The Call for Entry

This juried exhibition features artwork giving free reign to whimsy and fancy while working with their medium, techniques and style of choice. Their inspiration might come from within or from everyday life’s humorous machinations, play, memorable times and unexpected messages. All explorations & interpretations of this theme are invited.

The Ceramic Art Pieces

“Ghost Shark II” by Robert Kokenyesi, Godfrey, IL

There were only two ceramic pieces in the exhibit. This is a clay sheet glazed to create an image of a shark in deep ocean waters.  In such darkness a shark can move by you barely visible, just like a ghost

“Shark Whisperer bowl” by Robert Kokenyesi, Godfrey, IL

This Shark Whisperer bowl has over two dozen ceramic shark teeth with glass blood on them; the collection of the shark teeth is bound together by wax to form a somewhat perforated bowl.  The bowl won honorable mention in the show.  The next post will be about the construction of Shark Whisperer pieces.
