There was no call for entry, as this exhibit was a continuation of the 2019 Artfully Local Tour.

The Ceramic Art Pieces

“14” Red Platter” by Bob Sancamper

Nice spiral pattern in this deep maroon platter.  I couldn’t find a dedicated web site for Bob, but in his Etsy store this is the statement:”Bob is a retired laborer who started throwing clay about 10 years ago. He is an award winning potter. He makes all the pottery on his wheel in his basement and fires it all in the kiln in the garage. Bob makes mostly useful utilitarian items.”

“Clamshell” by Connie Clayton
“Rimmed bowl with Braided Handle” by Barry Clayton

Connie’s merged/fused plates bring contrasting colors and surface patterns together.  Barry’s bowl has this cool looking braided handle.  Connie and Barry Clayton are ceramic artists operating the Carriage House Studios in Alton, Illinois.  I couldn’t find a web site for the studio, youc an checl out more of their works on their Facebook page.  This is the statement on the Facebook page: “Handmade Pottery by Barry and Connie Clayton.”
